Our Physical Therapists (PTs) provide services to support gross motor development and help each child move, play, and explore their world with confidence. Movement is a child’s foundation for learning and independence. It allows them to engage in play, build strength, and participate in daily routines.
Physical therapy can support children in areas such as:
Gross motor skills – crawling, walking, running, jumping, climbing
Balance and coordination – improving stability and controlled movement
Strength and endurance – building muscle tone and overall stamina
Motor planning and body awareness – learning and sequencing new movements
Posture and alignment – supporting body positioning, recommending and utilizing orthotics
Gait training – improving walking patterns
Torticollis and plagiocephaly – addressing muscle tightness and head shape concerns
Orthopedic and neurological conditions – supporting children with developmental delays, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and other diagnoses
Adaptive equipment and mobility – assisting with walkers, standers, wheelchairs, and other devices
Our physical therapy sessions are:
Functional: working toward meaningful, age-appropriate goals
Individualized: tailored to each child’s unique needs and abilities
Collaborative: involving families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure progress across environments
You may want to consider an evaluation if your child:
Is late to roll, sit, crawl, or walk
Seems uncoordinated, clumsy, or easily fatigued
Has difficulty keeping up with peers during active play
Prefers to sit rather than move, or avoids physical activity
Walks on toes, has an unusual gait, or frequently trips/falls
Has poor posture or asymmetrical movement patterns of extremities, trunk, or neck
Was diagnosed with a neuromuscular or orthopedic condition
