Speech Therapy

Building Communication

Our Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) provide services to help children communicate with confidence. Communication is at the heart of connection. It allows children to express needs, share ideas, build relationships, and learn from the world around them. Speech therapy supports the development of communication skills so children can participate fully at home, school, and in the community.

Areas We Address

SLPs support development in the following areas:

  • Articulation and Phonology – Producing sounds clearly and accurately

  • Expressive and Receptive Language – Using and understanding words, grammar, and sentences

  • Early Language Development – Building first words, gestures, and routines to foster early connection

  • Fluency – Supporting children who repeat sounds (repetitions), stretch out sounds (prolongations), or feel “stuck” (blocks) when speaking

  • Social Communication (Pragmatics) – Conversing, turn-taking, perspective taking, and understanding nonverbal cues

  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) – Using tools or technology, such as picture systems or speech-generating devices

  • Feeding and Oral Motor Skills – Addressing picky eating, food aversions, and strengthening muscles and coordination for safe, effective eating and speech

  • Gestalt Language Processing (GLP) – Supporting children who learn language in “chunks” rather than single words through the Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) framework, helping them develop flexible, self-generated language

  • Cognitive-Communication – Enhancing attention, memory, organization, and problem-solving

  • Literacy – Supporting reading comprehension, spelling, phonological awareness, and written expression
